My name is Mandie. I’ve been teaching people of all ages how to Knit and Crochet for over 20 years.

I know what works, what doesn’t, and how to help individuals find success!

If you are someone who has watched tons of videos online, or maybe even paid to attend classes in the past, but still struggle to “get it” – you are in the right place.

Whether you are learning for the first time or looking for a refresher, I've worked with lots of students just like you!

I believe that knit and crochet are skills ANYONE can learn. It just takes time, practice, and a patient teacher who is willing to help you along the way.  I believe that YOU can learn to make beautiful projects.

Fiber has brought me joy for many years and there’s nothing that makes me happier than sharing that feeling with others. This is why I named my company “Yarn Party” because working with yarn among friends is just plain FUN. 

You are Learning From Someone Trained to Teach

My bachelor’s degree is in education and I spent many years working as a public librarian. In this role I created programs and workshops designed to engage and educate children, teens, and adults.

Teaching is a skill. A lot of people know how to knit or crochet, but that does not always translate to knowing how to teach. I understand the art and science of helping people learn new things.

Many people blame themselves when they struggle to learn something new. The truth? The right teacher can make a world of difference. 

Ongoing Support is Offered After Classes

Twice a month I host Social Stitches, a meet-up which is always FREE to attend. If you are struggling with something, have questions, or just want to stitch with like-minded individuals, drop by our local meet-up.

You are not alone and Social Stitches is a fun place to hang out. There is no charge and nobody is going to try to sell you anything. 

The Startup Investment is Very Affordable

Often classes for beginners are priced separately from the needed supplies. This means there can be a hefty final price tag before you even know if knit or crochet is the right hobby for you.

At Yarn Party, most class prices INCLUDE all needed supplies.

Over the past 20 years I have taught hundreds of students from all ages and backgrounds.

My teaching methods are proven and reliable, all I ask is that you show up with an open mind and a willingness to learn.
